Task 1 cần nói một xu hướng theo hai cách để không lặp: động từ + trạng từ (Sales rose sharply) hoặc There was / saw + tính từ + danh từ (There was a sharp rise in sales). Trạng từ đi với động từ, tính từ đi với danh từ. Chọn thì theo thời gian trong biểu đồ: năm đã qua → quá khứ đơn; đến hiện nay → hiện tại hoàn thành; dự báo tương lai → will / is expected to.

- increased BY 20% = tăng thêm 20 điểm/phần trăm; increased TO 20% = tăng đến mức 20%.
- reached a peak OF 60% / peaked AT 60% / stood AT 30% in 2015.
- rise, fall, increase, decrease là nội động từ — KHÔNG dùng bị động (*was increased*).
- Tránh lặp chủ ngữ dài: the number of online shoppers → this figure / the figure for young adults.
