- Chủ động ↔ bị động: The government banned X → X was banned (by the government)
- Động từ → danh từ: ban → the ban on; introduce → the introduction of; violate → a violation of
- Tính từ → danh từ / trạng từ: responsible → responsibility; strict → strictly
- Đồng nghĩa theo ngữ cảnh: ban ≈ prohibit; obey ≈ comply with; punish ≈ impose a penalty on
- Câu phủ định ↔ khẳng định: not legal ≈ illegal; not allowed ≈ prohibited
Paraphrase là kỹ năng xuất hiện ở MỌI phần thi: mở bài Writing (paraphrase đề), Reading và Listening (câu hỏi luôn paraphrase bài), Speaking (tránh lặp từ của giám khảo). Buổi này ôn 4 kỹ thuật đã học ở Giai đoạn 2–3 và kết hợp chúng. Paraphrase tốt đổi CẤU TRÚC lẫn TỪ, nhưng giữ đúng nghĩa và đúng sắc thái. Đồng nghĩa chỉ đúng trong ngữ cảnh: 'rule' ≈ 'regulation' trong luật, nhưng 'rule a country' không thể thành 'regulation a country'. Giữ nguyên thuật ngữ không có đồng nghĩa (animal testing, human rights) thay vì cố đổi.
